A
native of North Carolina, Bishop Rick moved to Vermont in 1982 with his
wife, Phyllis, and their two sons, Todd and Benjamin. Bishop Rick
serves Maranatha Christian Church in Williston, Vermont as its Senior
Apostolic leader. He is a graduate of Gloryland Bible College
and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Christian Life School of
Theology, Columbus, Georgia. During his tenure in Vermont, Bishop
Rick has planted three other churches in the state, and is the president and
founder of Maranatha Ministerial Fellowship, International, a network of
churches and ministries throughout the New England, parts of Canada and the
South.
He travels extensively throughout the
world. He loves the mission field, and has served with missionaries
in India, the Philippines, Haiti, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, China,
Lebanon, Nigeria, the Ukraine and throughout Europe.
While in Korea in 1996, Bishop Rick had the distinct privilege of meeting
with Dr. David Yonggi Cho who laid hands upon him, and prayed a prayer of
anointing over his life and ministry. God birthed "Proceeding
Word Ministries,"... a dynamic and anointed ministry with an
Apostolic call and vision, whose purpose is to enhance and encourage the
body of Christ at large. Prayer was monumental in the birthing of this
ministry, and it continues to be the major emphasis contributing to the
success of "Proceeding Word."
Bishop Rick and Dr. Phyllis', son Todd and his wife Xiomara, have
made them the proud grandparents of two beautiful little girls, Trinity Jade
and Destiny Callahan. Todd and Xiomara recently became the proud
parents of twin boys, Matai and Malakai Callahan, born April 8, 2005.
