Bishop Rick

A native of North Carolina, Bishop Rick moved to Vermont in 1982 with his wife, Phyllis, and their two sons, Todd and Benjamin. Bishop Rick served Maranatha Christian Church in Williston, Vermont, as its Senior Apostolic leader, for 27 years. During his tenure in Vermont, Bishop Rick assisted in three other church plants throughout the state, and became the founder of Maranatha Ministerial Fellowship, International, a network of churches and ministries throughout New England, parts of Canada and the South, for which he currently serves as President. Bishop Rick earned a B.Th. from Gloryland Bible College, and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Christian Life School of Theology, Columbus, Georgia. He was also awarded a Doctor of Divinity from Christian Life School of Theology by Dr. Ron Cottle.

Bishop Rick travels extensively in ministry throughout the world. He loves missions, and has served with missionaries and pastors in India, the Philippines, Haiti, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Lebanon, Nigeria, the Ukraine, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Nicaragua, and throughout Europe.

While in Korea in 1996, Bishop Rick had the distinct privilege of meeting with Dr. David Yonggi Cho who laid hands upon him, and prayed a prayer of anointing over Bishop's life and ministry. After a time of anointed prayer on Prayer Mountain, in Seoul, Korea, and after prayer with Dr. Cho, "Proceeding Word Ministries,"...a dynamic and anointed ministry with an Apostolic call and vision, whose purpose is to enhance and encourage the body of Christ at large...was birthed. Prayer was monumental in the conception and birthing of this ministry, and it continues to be a major factor contributing to the ongoing success of Proceeding Word Ministries International.

Bishop Rick and Dr. Phyllis have four beautiful grandchildren whose parents are Todd and Xio Callahan, who also serve as the Sr. Pastors of Legacy International Church in Orlando, Florida. The Callahans' second son, Benjamin, and his wife, Blanca, also reside in Orlando, Florida and are parents of the Callahans' fifth wonderful grandchild. They, too, are ministering the Gospel, domestically and abroad, through music as Blanca launches as a solo gospel artist.
